NASCAR driver Kyle Larson visits neurologist after fainting (The Associated Press)

Logano uses restart to win truck race at Martinsville (The Associated Press)

(AP Photo/Steve Helber)Joey Logano passed Matt Crafton entering the first turn at the start of a two-lap sprint to the finish and won an exciting NASCAR Truck race at Martinsville Speedway on Saturday. The Daytona 500 champion won for the first time in the series to become the 26th driver to win in all three of NASCAR's top series. Crafton, who led 100 laps while Logano led 150, figured he might be in trouble with the two-lap finish.

Gordon, Earnhardt among the winners and fans of Martinsville (The Associated Press)

Jeff Gordon talks to a member of his crew in the garage after practice at the Martinsville Speedway in Martinsville, Va., Friday, March 27, 2015. Rain delayed the practice and qualifying for Sunday's STP 500 Sprint Cup race. (AP Photo/Steve Helber)If Jeff Gordon ever decides to race again after his 2015 retirement tour is finished, it would likely be at Martinsville Speedway, a track where the four-time champion has had great success. ''This is probably the first track that comes to mind for me that if I ran another race - not that I have plans to - that I'd do it at Martinsville. Gordon's teammate, Dale Earnhardt Jr., has won at Daytona and got his first victory at Martinsville last fall. ''You want them both pretty bad,'' he said, the latter not only because the smallest track on NASCAR's top circuit is also the oldest, but because it gives a grandfather clock as a trophy.

Roger Penske warns NASCAR team not to manipulate tires (The Associated Press)

Team owner Roger Penske watches practice for the IndyCar Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg auto race Friday, March 27, 2015, in St. Petersburg, Fla. The race takes place on Sunday. (AP Photo/Chris O'Meara)Roger Penske has warned his NASCAR team to stay out of any controversy regarding the possible manipulation of tires used during races. The team owner is aware of rampant industry speculation that some crews are drilling tiny holes in tires to allow air to escape during a race, a process known as ''bleeding tires.'' NASCAR has confiscated tires the last two weeks, including those of Team Penske driver Joey Logano following the race at Phoenix. Logano and Kevin Harvick's tires both cleared a second inspection. NASCAR took tires from four other drivers after last week's race at California, but results of an independent inspection haven't been released.

Logano wins Martinsville pole; Elliott to start 27th (The Associated Press)

Sprint Cup driver Joey Logano, left, celebrates winning the pole for Sunday's NASCAR Sprint Cup race at the Martinsville Speedway in Martinsville, Va., Friday, March 27, 2015. Rain delayed the practice and qualifying for Sunday's STP 500 Sprint Cup race. (AP Photo/Steve Helber)Daytona 500 champion Joey Logano won the pole for Sunday's NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Martinsville Speedway, and Chase Elliott earned the right to make his debut in the series by qualifying 27th. Logano turned a fast lap at 98.461 mph in the third round of qualifying, edging Ryan Newman (98.328), to win the 10th pole of his career and his second this season. ''You win anything at Martinsville, it's a big deal,'' Logano said, adding that having only run five laps to get through the first two rounds of qualifying gave him an advantage heading into the final round. Martin Truex Jr. (98.018), Jeff Gordon (97.613) and Jimmie Johnson (97.583) complete the top five.

NASCAR topic: Cheating with tire pressure, or just hot air? (The Associated Press)

Rain delayed the practice and qualifying for Sunday's STP 500 Sprint Cup race. (AP Photo/Steve Helber)There's been lot of talk about tires in the NASCAR garage the past few weeks, or longer, and lots of theories about whether something shady is going on or if the chatter is just a bunch of hot air. After last two races, NASCAR confiscated tires from teams. It took tires from red-hot points leader Kevin Harvick and Joey Logano after the race at Phoenix two weeks ago, and declared them fine a few days later. It took tires from Harvick, Kurt Busch, Paul Menard and Ryan Newman last weekend at Fontana.

Gibbs is undergoing treatment for ''symptoms impacting areas of brain function,'' which likely stem from a head injury suffered earlier in life. JGR did not reveal a specific diagnosis in a statement Wednesday, but said Gibbs is undergoing treatment to manage symptoms that began with ''speech and processing issues.'' The 46-year-old is the oldest son of team owner Joe Gibbs, the Pro Football Hall of Fame who won three Super Bowls with Washington. ''All members of the NASCAR and France family extend our thoughts and prayers to J.D. Gibbs and his loved ones,'' NASCAR Chairman and CEO Brian France said in a statement.
