Jack Roush discusses possible engine changes (NASCAR.com)

With NASCAR officials focusing on engine changes in the Sprint Cup Series for 2015 that will result in a reduction of horsepower, such a move should involve "a restriction on the intake side," according to Sprint Cup Series team co-owner Jack Roush. NASCAR Chairman and CEO Brian France and NASCAR Fuel for Business were honored at the Cynopsis Sports Awards Thursday at the Yale Club in New York City. NASCAR Sprint Cup Series team owner Rick Hendrick presented France with the Vision Award, which recognizes the executive of the year from a sports league or organization who has demonstrated innovation and transformed an industry. "Brian has revolutionized the sport of NASCAR, working with the entire NASCAR industry -- the teams, tracks and sponsors." Sponsorship woes put Swan Racing future in doubt (The Associated Press)

Swan Racing owner Brandon Davis, the CEO of independent oil and gas company Swan Energy, bought the organization in late 2012. Cole Whitt drives the No. 26 Toyota Camry and Parker Kligerman drives the No. 30 Toyota Camry for Swan in the Sprint Cup series. ''The team has been unable to secure the kind of sponsorship required to effectively operate the team,'' Swan Racing said in a statement.

Swan Racing 'reviewing its current situation' (NASCAR.com)

Swan Racing debuted in 2012 as a single-car operation with owner Brandon Davis and driver David Stremme. For 2014, the group expanded to two teams, fielding the No. 30 Toyota for driver Parker Kligerman as well as the No. 26 with driver Cole Whitt. Davis is CEO of Swan Energy, an independent oil and gas company based in Denver. The group added minority owner Bill Romanowski, a former NFL linebacker, prior to the start of the 2013 season while Anthony Marlowe, co-founder of business process outsourcing company TMone, came on board earlier this year. read more...
